Press Release Body = The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale's Bachelor of Science
degree in the Interior Design program is now accredited by the Council for Interior
Design Accreditation (formerly known as FIDER). The program meets educational
quality standards and prepares graduates who will contribute to the future
excellence of the interior design industry. The term of accreditation is 2006-2012.

Heading up the program since its inception in 1992 is prominent state-licensed
interior design professional William Kobrynich. The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale
was the first in the Art Institutes system of schools to begin an Interior Design
major. Kobrynich is a practicing Commercial Design Consultant and the former
president of the American Society of Interior Designers' Florida South Chapter. His
past affiliations include the Interior Design Association Foundation, the State of
Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design, Illuminating Engineers Society,
and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

The Interior Design bachelor degree offers advanced hands-on technical knowledge and
application with distinguished faculty experts as instructors. The comprehensive
curriculum includes studies and hands-on learning in architectural detailing,
building codes and standards, historical and modern decorative arts, design basics,
space planning, furnishings and accessories, interior architecture in design and
drawing, AutoCAD, textiles, and career planning. A comprehensive, professional
lighting and sample lab is also available for students.

The Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design Program is a learning experience
developed for students who wish to enhance their professional skills for industries
including commercial, residential, furniture/textile, kitchen and bathroom,
architectural, yacht and hospitality design. As of August 2006, the average salary
for an Interior Design bachelor major is $33,656 with 97.6% of the graduates being
employed within six months of graduation. Some of the companies who employ graduates
